Map the gap before Medicare

Retirement and Medicare do not always start together. Put the dates side by side, then make a separate plan for each person in your household.

How to use the timeline

The first day needing replacement coverage is the day after your current plan ends. The bridge ends the day before the Medicare start month you enter. The calendar-month count includes partial months; it does not estimate premiums.

Example: current coverage ends June 30, 2027 and Medicare starts October 1, 2027. The bridge is July 1 through September 30: 92 days across three calendar months. If COBRA ends August 31, another 30 days need a plan.

A date planner, not a Medicare enrollment decision

This tool does not determine Medicare eligibility or advise delaying enrollment. COBRA and retiree coverage generally do not count as coverage based on current employment for delaying Part B. Confirm your situation directly with Medicare before using a later start date.
